Royal Academy of Engineering Diversity Framework

One of the highlights of the CAETS Council Meeting held in London in September 2017 was the discussion on Diversity, where delegates heard from a number of academies about the diversity challenges the engineering profession is facing in their respective countries, and the measures they are taking to try and address them. The CAE provided input for this discussion.

Jenny Young, Head of Diversity at the Royal Academy of Engineering gave a presentation from the perspective of the Royal Academy of Engineering. In her presentation Jenny referred to their planned launch of a diversity and inclusion progression framework for professional bodies. This launch went ahead as planned on 15 Dec, to a packed and very enthusiastic audience of Professional Engineering Institutions and Science Council members. The framework has been piloted as part of its development and has received overwhelmingly positive feedback. It is attached here for your interest.
