On a weekly basis, the CAE compiles news of interest to the organization and its members, and makes it publicly available on our website. The CAE works to highlight emerging issues in which engineering has a role as well as promote recognition of engineering excellence and innovation.
CAE Fellow named to Future Skills Council
Judy Fairburn, FCAE, has been named to the new federal Future Skills Council. According to Employment and Social Development Canada, “Future Skills is part of the Government’s plan to ensure that Canada’s skills development policies and programs are prepared to meet Canadians’ changing needs.”

2019 Distinguished Woman in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering
Molly Shoichet, FCAE, has been named a 2019 Distinguished Woman in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering by the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC). The recipients were announced February 11, to mark the International Day of Women and Girls in Science.
