CAE News for the week of 23 April

On a weekly basis, the CAE compiles news of interest to the organization and its members, and makes it publicly available on our website. The CAE works to highlight emerging issues in which engineering has a role as well as promote recognition of engineering excellence and innovation.

 PEO Honours

 Congratulations to Chris Roney, FCAE and President of Engineers Canada, and Jeanette Southwood, FCAE, for their induction into the PEO Order of Honour.

Canifra Challenge Contest Top 10

Congratulations to Paul Acchione, M. Eng., P. Eng., FCAE, FCAE, whose INZEM Energy team has advanced to the Top 10 teams in the Caninfra Challenge. Public voting starts in early May. For more information, click here.

Engineers Canada Award

Congratulations to University of Toronto Professor Levente Diosady, FCAE, who has received Engineers Canada’s highest honour for his work in nutrient security. For more information, click here.

Vice Regal Commendation

On the eve of the completion of her five and a half years term as British Columbia’s 29th Lieutenant Governor, Her Honour Judith Guichon, OBC, awarded a Vice Regal Commendation to Colin Smith, FCAE. This infrequently bestowed national honour is administered by the Chancellery of Honours at Rideau Hall, and was awarded in recognition of commendable service rendered to the Office of the Lieutenant Governor.
