CAE News for the weeks of 18 and 25 March

On a weekly basis, the CAE compiles news of interest to the organization and its members, and makes it publicly available on our website. The CAE works to highlight emerging issues in which engineering has a role as well as promote recognition of engineering excellence and innovation.

CAE Fellow awarded Honorary Doctorate

ETS Professor Jacques de Guise, FACG, has been honoured by Claude Bernard Lyon 1 University in recognition of the significant contributions he has made to healthcare technology in the fields of imaging and orthopedics.

Federal Budget 2019

We were pleased to see that the 2019 Federal Budget establishes an NRCan / StatsCan  “a virtual Canadian Centre for Energy Information,” a capacity for which we have called. (see page 90)

Engineers Canada 2019 Awards

The Engineers Canada 2019 Meritorious Service Award for Professional Service  has been awarded to Dennis K. Paddock, P.Eng., FCAE. Helen Wojcinski, P.Eng., FCAE, has been named the 2019 winner of the Meritorious Service Award for Community Service.  Catherine Karakatsanis, P.Eng., FCAE, was awarded the 2019 Engineers Canada Gold Medal.  Congratulations to all of the recipients.
